Grand Army Medical, LLC (“GAM”) will be opening a brand new medical center in New York City in 2010 that will manage multiple physician practices, and feature several accredited operating rooms for plastic surgery, dermatology, GI procedures, and other complementary practices.
GAM seeks a part-time to full-time Chief Administrator who will oversee the facility’s accreditation process, and ensure that the design and layout of the facility maximizes efficient patient flow and complies with various accreditation requirements. At first, the position might only entail a day or less of work per week. During this start-up phase, the Administrator will meet with doctors, staff, and managers of the center.
After the start-up phase, the position could be full-time, and the Administrator would be responsible for the creation of the clinical and business infrastructure for managing physician practices, including: 1) billing, 2) electronic medical records, 3) coding, 4) negotiations with insurance carriers for fees, 5) credentialing of doctors and support staff for insurance companies, and 6) stocking of supplies.
Requirements
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or with a healthcare administration degree.
• A current NY RN or NP license, BSN preferred.
• Must have 2+ years of management experience, preferably in an ambulatory endoscopy or plastic surgery center.
• Strong knowledge of the healthcare industry and patient needs.
• Working knowledge of government regulations specific to relevant healthcare issues, with business experience a plus.
• Must also have a thorough understanding of healthcare-related documentation/systems, nursing skills/techniques, coding/billing and relevant medical equipment.
• Management experience.
